Drs. Richard Blumberg, Brent Lacey & more: 3 GI physicians making headlines

Here are three gastroenterologists who made the news this past week:

Sean McGarr, DO, will join Lewiston-based Central Maine Healthcare as its medical director. Dr. McGarr is an advanced therapeutic endoscopist.

Richard Blumberg, MD, was elected to the National Academy of Medicine, one of the highest honors in medicine. He is Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s chief of gastroenterology and hepatology.

Lt. Cmdr. Brent Lacey, MD, was recognized with the U.S. Navy’s Captain Walter J. Coyle Award for Clinical Gastroenterology for his excellent patient care. Dr. Lacey is a gastroenterologist at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, N.C.
