Drs. Chung Owyang, Grace Elta Earn AGA Recognition

The American Gastroenterological Association has awarded Chung Owyang the Julius Friedenwald Medal and Grace Elta, MD, the Distringuished Clinician Award, according to a UofMHealth report.

Dr. Owyang is the chief of the gastroenterology division of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Elta is the medical director of the University of Michigan medical procedures unit and associate chief of clinical programs.

The Julius Friedenwald Medal has been awarded each year beginning in 1941 to recognize dedication in the field of gastroenterology.

The Distinguished Clinician Award recognizes Dr. Elta’s work in the U of M endoscopy units.
