Dr. Tim Ridgway named South Dakota State Medical Association president: 4 key points

Gastroenterologist Tim Ridgway, MD, has been elected the new president of the South Dakota Medical Association, according to a South Dakota Public Broadcasting report.

Here are four key points on the new SDSMA president.

1. Dr. Ridgway is the director of endoscopy at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

2. He also serves as the dean of faculty affairs and an associate professor of medicine at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in Vermillion.

3. Dr. Ridgway was elected at the organization’s annual meeting on May 29.

4. SDSMA represents approximately 2,000 physicians, residents and medical students, according to the report.
