Dr. Jeffrey Gordon to Receive Dickson Prize in Medicine for Gut Microbiome Research

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine will grant Jeffery I. Gordon, MD, its 2014 Dickson Prize in Medicine for his research on how GI microbes affect human physiology, metabolism and nutritional status, according to a gantdaily report.

Dr. Gordon will accept the award at Science 2014 – Sustain It! in October.

He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis and a postdoctoral fellowship in biochemistry and molecular biology at the National Institutes of Health.
