Dr. Hemant Roy Named Boston University School of Medicine's Chief of Gastroenterology

The Boston University School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center have announced Gastroenterologist Hemant Roy, MD, has been named chief of gastroenterology, according to a news release.

 

Dr. Roy's position becomes effective Jan. 1, 2013.

 

Dr. Roy currently serves as the Duckworth Professor of Cancer Research, director of research and vice chair of Northshore University Health System. He also serves as clinical associate professor of medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine,

 

Dr. Roy received his MD from Northwestern University. He then completed his medical training at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and served a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Chicago.
