Colorectal surgeon Harsha Polavarapu, MD, has joined the Hannibal Regional Medical Group in Hannibal, Mo., according to the Hannibal Courier-Post.

Here are three things to know about Dr. Polavarapu:

1. He is Hannibal Regional Medical Group’s first colorectal surgeon.

2. His areas of expertise include colonoscopies, minimally invasive surgery for IBD and treating hemorrhoids, fecal incontinence and colon and rectal cancer.

3. He completed his surgical training in the United Kingdom and earned his medical degree in India.
