Dr. Daniel Ridout III recognized for noteworthy medical service: 4 insights

Marquis Who's Who profiled Roswell-based Eastern New Mexico Medical Center's gastroenterology chief Daniel Ridout III, MD.

Here are four things to know:

1. Dr. Ridout was elected as a fellow of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in 2017, and is a fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Physicians.

2. He is an assistant professor at Las Cruces, N.M.-based Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine.

3. Dr. Ridout received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is a board-certified gastroenterologist with additional certification in advanced cardiac and life support, advanced trauma and life support, endoscopic ultrasonography and endoscopic laser therapy.

4. The Afro-American Historical Society of Delaware presented Dr. Ridout with an Achievement and Service in Medicine Award in 1989, and he was inducted into the African American Museum and Historical Society of Delaware Hall of Fame in 2003.
