United States drug manufacturer AbbVie conducted a survey that assessed whether or not gastroenterologists underestimate the severity of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, according to a report by thepharmaletter.

• 67 percent of physicians underestimated the severity of moderate UC

• 55 percent of physicians underestimated the severity of moderate Crohn's disease
• 44 percent of physicians correctly assessed the severity of moderate Crohn's disease
• 75 percent of physicians correctly assessed the severity of mild Crohn's disease
• 79 percent of physicians correctly assessed the severity of mild UC
