Here are five recent news updates on key GI/endoscopy company players.

The FDA approved the hepatitis C drug Technivie from AbbVie. The drug is designed for use with ribavarin for adult HCV patients with genotype 4.

The FDA also approved Daklinza from Bristol-Myers Squibb. The drug is cleared for use with Sovaldi from Gilead Sciences for the treatment of HCV genotype 3.

Stamford (Conn.) Hospital became the first provider in its area to acquire the Fuse Endoscope System from EndoChoice.

Modernizing Medicine signed a definitive agreement to acquire gastroenterology EHR company gMed.

Brattleboro (Vt.) Memorial Hospital acquired the Olympus EVIS EXERA III video endoscopy system.
