Conmed’s board will soon be without an independent director, as Dirk Kuyper submitted his resignation notice, effective Aug. 1.

1. Mr. Kuyper served as an independent director on Conmed’s board for six years.

2. Mr. Kuyper spoke highly of current Conmed CEO Curt Hartman in his resignation. “I have great confidence in Curt Hartman’s vision and strategy for Conmed, and I believe he has the right team in place to achieve his vision of sustainable long-term growth,” he said.

3. Conmed hired a corporate search firm to fill the vacancy left by Mr. Kuyper’s departure.
