ColoWrap awarded grant to expand patient population

ColoWrap was awarded a $255,000 grant from the National Science Foundation, the company announced Sept. 14.

The grant launches a research and development initiative to adapt ColoWrap’s existing antilooping colonoscopy compression device to a broader patient population.

ColoWrap is a single-use, noninvasive medical device designed to prevent looping during colonoscopy. Looping occurs in up to 90 percent of procedures and is the primary cause of patient pain, complications and failed exams, the release said.
