Colonoscopy prep app developer raises $4M

The quality of colonoscopy preparation plays a large role in the procedure’s outcome and gastroenterologists’ ability to visualize the colon. As demand for colonoscopy rises, tools for both the consumer and provider have sprung up in the market.

Gamgee, a San Mateo, Calif.-based patient engagement app developer, is amongst the number of companies offering options for improved colonoscopy prep. The company’s app 22otters provides patients with pre-procedure checklist, graphics and animations designed to make the process as simple as possible.

Gamgee raised $4 million for its app offerings, according to a mobihealthnews report.
