CMS to cover stool DNA test Cologuard

CMS has issued its final National Coverage Determination for the colorectal cancer stool DNA test Cologuard, developed by Exact Sciences.

CMS will cover the test for Medicare Part B beneficiaries once every three years. Those eligible for coverage are:

    •    50 years to 85 years old
    •    Asymptomatic
    •    At average risk for colorectal cancer

Coverage goes into effect today, but CMS has yet to release its preliminary pricing decision.
