Data presented at the 2014 American College of Gastroenterology Scientific Meeting indicated that there are approximately 1.6 million inflammatory bowel disease patients in United States.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America is hosting a number of activities this week to boost awareness through social media.

“With the help of social media, we are creating a platform for our constituents to share their unique stories that can increase awareness and support for research initiatives that lead to better treatments and ultimately cures,” said CCFA President and CEO Richard J. Geswell.
