'Butts and Guts 5K Race', 'A Human CRC Awareness Ribbon' & more: ACG releases 2018 SCOPY award winners

The American College of Gastroenterology will recognize 21 projects in its fourth annual SCOPY awards ceremony Oct. 8 in Philadelphia.

A three-judge panel gives awards to projects that further colorectal cancer prevention, outreach and excellence.

The initiatives "demonstrated a relentless commitment to community service, a penchant for witty taglines, a focus on quality and public health intervention, a clear commitment to the power of partnership and dedication to awareness even in the wake of disaster," said Sophie M. Balzora, MD, chair of the ACG Public Relations Committee chair in a release.
