Boston Scientific's net sales of $1.96B in Q1 2016: 7 key notes

Boston Scientific reported its financial results for the first quarter of 2016.

Here are seven key notes:

1. The company reported first quarter sales of $1.96 billion, which represents 13 percent operational revenue growth and an increase of 11 percent on a reported basis compared to the same period last year.

2. The company reported GAAP earnings of $202 million.

3. In the first quarter of 2016, Boston Scientific saw operational revenue growth of 28 percent in its medsurg division; and 14 percent in its cardiovascular division as compared to first quarter of 2015.

4. The company also saw a decline of 2 percent in its rhythm management division, over the prior year period.

5. Operational revenue grew by 14 percent in the United States and 11 percent in Europe in the first quarter.

6. The company saw operational revenue growth of 15 percent in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

7. The company now estimates revenue for the full year 2016 to be in a range of $8.08 billion to $8.23 billion.
