Marlborough, Mass.-based Boston Scientific has launched Endura Weight Loss Solutions, a new category name for its minimally invasive endobariatric procedures such as endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty and Orbera intragastric balloon placement. Both reduce stomach capacity without external incisions, helping patients eat less and feel full longer, according to an Aug. 6 press release.

A survey of 2,000 U.S. women aged 30 to 65 found 40% think about weight loss daily and infrequently reach their goals. Nearly half were unaware of endoscopic options, though over half of those unhappy with their weight indicated they wanted to learn more.

Boston Scientific is also launching Break Through, a national campaign to raise awareness of these alternatives to surgery and long-term medications.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
