Here are five practices and hospitals making headlines this week.

The National Institutes of Health awarded Boston Medical Center gastroenterologist Michelle Long, MD, a five-year, nearly $1 million grant to fund research on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System opened Mount Sinai Doctors Palm Beach (Fla.) focused on bringing primary care, cardiology, gastroenterology and ophthalmology services to the area.

Evangelical Community Hospital will acquire Central Penn Gastroenterology Associates, effective July 2. Both organizations are based in Lewisburg, Pa.

Morristown (N.J.) Medical Center's GI medical oncology medical director Angela Alistar, MD, is leading research into Rafael Pharmaceuticals' CPI-613, a pancreatic cancer therapy.

Pensacola, Fla.-based Baptist Medical Group added gastroenterologist David Dozer, MD, to its network.
