Beacon Endoscopic Launches Endoscopic Ultrasound Procedures System

Beacon Endoscopic has announced the commercial launch of its BNX system for use in endoscopic ultrasound and endoscopic bronchial ultrasound, according to a news release.

The system incorporates a delivery system that loads and unloads fine needle aspiration needles of varying sizes. The system also features the ability to automatically sheath all needles with a shield during needle removal.

The company says the BNX system is "Engineered to improve clinical workflow by facilitating the passage of multiple needles through a single delivery system, without removing the delivery system," according to its website.

Beacon intends to work with 20 endoscopy centers in the United States to identify training techniques and clinical positioning.

"We are pleased with the high level of clinical interest in the BNX System, our novel delivery system for EUS procedures and believe that by working with and learning from the key GI opinion leaders, we can maximize the success of our full commercial launch to the broader market," said Brian Tinkham, co-founder of Beacon Endoscopic, in the release. "Our overall goal is to provide physicians with better solutions for existing procedures."

Beacon Endoscopic is headquartered in Newton, Mass.
