Bariatric Surgeon Dr. Adam Smith Named Pres.-Elect of American College of Osteopathic Surgeons

Adam Smith, DO, a bariatric surgeon at Fort Worth Lap-Band in Texas, has been elected the president-elect of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, according to an ACOS news release.

Dr. Smith was one of the first surgeons in Texas to perform a gastric band procedure and has now placed 3,000 lap-bands. He is the principle investigator on several ongoing and completed studies.

 

Dr. Smith also serves as an Inaugural Expert for Doctors of Weight Loss, where he and other bariatric surgeons around the country provide patient education on the latest developments in obesity research and bariatrics.
