ASGE offers new operations benchmarking platform — 3 key notes

The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy launched an interactive tool to assist practices in measuring financial and operational benchmarks.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The ASGE GI Operations Benchmarking Platform allows for analytical decision making.

2. Practices can compare how they fare against more than 100 benchmarks consisting of topics like clinical labor, revenue and expenses.

3. The online platform can serve as a medium-weighted activity for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System’s Improvement Activities category, but practices must enroll into the platform by Oct. 2.

Columbus-based Ohio Gastroenterology COO Frank Chapman said in a release the platform helped the practice’s four clinical locations reduce their unit inventory costs.
