GIs must participate in one of the following activities by Oct. 1 to qualify:
1. Centers can participate in the ASGE GI Operations Benchmarking Survey. The survey will allow centers to compile benchmarking data that administrators can compare to the entire study body or similar performing units.
2. Centers can apply for recognition through ASGE’s Endoscopic Unit Recognition Program. The program gives centers a holistic look into center quality. It also identifies areas of improvement to create lifelong quality practices.
3. Centers can apply for the ASGE’s STAR certificate program. ASGE offers certificates in endoscopic mucosal resection, Barrett’s endotherapy and suturing.
4. Physicians can participate in the GIQuIC clinical benchmarking registry to track data that supports quality improvement initiatives.
