Apollo Endosurgery Adds Former Covidien CEO to Board of Directors

Apollo Endosurgery has announced it has added Richard J. Meelia, former CEO and chairman of Covidien, to its board of directors, according to a news release.

Apollo Endosurgery develops therapeutic endoscopy devices for use during minimally invasive procedures.

Mr. Meelia recently retired from his position with Covidien. He had led Covidien’s spinoff from Tyco Healthcare in 2007, and had served as president of Tyco since 1995.
