The American Gastroenterological Association has partnered with nonprofit Beyond Celiac to establish a research grant.
The $40,000 grant will create the AGA-Beyond Celiac Pilot Research Award in Celiac Disease, according to an April 1 press release sent to Becker’s.
It will be funded by Beyond Celiac to support scientists researching celiac and gluten-related disorders.
The grant will be managed by the AGA’s Research Foundation, whose pilot grant program is designed to provide seed funding for projects that can lead to more substantial research grants. Funding for the new grant will begin on April 1, 2026.
“This collaboration represents a significant step forward in our commitment to advancing research and improving the lives of patients with celiac disease,” Michael Camilleri, MD, AGA Research Foundation chair, said in the release. “By supporting innovative clinical, translational, or basic scientists at all career stages, we aim to uncover new insights and treatments that will make a lasting impact.”
