American College of Gastroenterology honors Dr. Satish Rao

The American College of Gastroenterology awarded Satish Rao, MD, PhD, its Distinguished Mentorship and Teaching Award, local ABC affiliate WJBF reported Nov. 23.

Dr. Rao is the founding director of Digestive Health Center at the Augusta-based Medical College of Georgia and Augusta University Health.

He is recognized for his contributions to the development of mentees’ growth and career paths. Dr. Rao also has been recognized by the American Gastroenterological Association as a distinguished clinician and educator.
