This is another in a set of mounting problems for California weight-loss centers that are currently being investigated by state and federal authorities and sued by former employees for allegedly persuading patients to have medically unnecessary surgeries, billing insurance companies for procedures that were never performed and covering up mistakes
According to the report, the affiliated surgery centers issued a statement saying Lap-Band is just one option and they would continue to work with patients wishing to lose weight.
