AGA's new guideline for treating refractory H. pylori

The American Gastroenterological Association updated its clinical practice guidance for treating refractory Helicobacter pylori, Medpage Today reported Feb. 28.

AGA specifically updated guidance around the management of H. Pylori after the initial attempt at eradication fails, and also issued best practices on regimen selection.

The likelihood of successful eradication decreases after each subsequent therapeutic attempt. Because of this, physicians should address factors that contribute to eradication failure. Some cases should also be approached through shared decision-making.

AGA made 10 recommendations in total. They are available here.
