AGA’s Gastroenterology achieves highest impact rating among GI/hepatology journals: 4 takeaways

The American Gastroenterological Association’s Gastroenterology is the highest-ranked journal in terms of impact in the gastroenterology and hepatology category, according to Thomson Reuters’ Impact Factor rankings for 2015.

Here are four takeaways:

1. The Impact Factor rankings measure the number of citations articles receive, which help measure scientific journals’ influence.

2. Gastroenterology reached an all-time high Impact Factor score of 18.187.

3. This is the second consecutive year the journal achieved the highest rank in the gastroenterology and hepatology category.  

4. AGA’s Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology achieved the seventh rank in the category, with an Impact Factor score of 7.68.
