On Sept. 17, more than 60 members of the American Gastroenterological Association traveled to Capitol Hill for the organization's Advocacy Day.

The AGA members met with lawmakers to discuss the effects of the proposed colonoscopy reimbursement cuts and urged Congress to support increased funding for the National Institutes of Health.

"By meeting with members of Congress, we hope to continue the dialog about gastroenterologists' place in healthcare delivery and research discoveries to ensure that our patients continue to receive the care that they deserve," said Peter Margolis, MD, AGAF, AGA government committee chair, according to the AGA report.
