AGA awards $2M+ in funding to 41 researchers — 3 insights

The American Gastroenterological Association Research Foundation announced its 2018 AGA Research Foundation awardees, bestowing more than $2 million in funding to 41 researchers.

1. The foundation provides awards annually. AGA Research Foundation Chairman Robert Sandler, MD, said, “Based on the proposals, we are confident that the newest class of awardees will continue to push gastroenterology and hepatology research forward and contribute to the next big discoveries in our field.”

2. The funding also allows recipients to have protected time to continue their research.

3. According to the foundation, its funding has helped launch the careers of several investigators.
