AGA Adds New Vice President, Board Members

The American Gastroenterological Association has appointed John I. Allen, MD, MBA, AGAF, to the position of vice president, according to an AGA report.

Dr. Allen is the medical director for quality at Minnesota Gastroenterology in Bloomington, Minn., and has more than 30 years of experience. He will serve as vice president and president-elect before taking over as AGA president in May 2014.

AGA also named Ron Fogel, MD, of the Digestive Health Centers of Michigan/Clinical Research Institute of Michigan, the private practice councilor and David A. Lieberman, MD, chief of the division of gastroenterology at the Oregon Health Sciences University, the clinical research councilor.
