A bevy of physician moves & more: 5 GI industry key notes

Here are five updates from gastroenterology companies and practices from the past week:

New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health has launched a text and email program to reduce no-show rates for colonoscopies scheduled at two hospitals.

Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger and Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network opened a $72 million hospital in Orwigsburg, Pa.

Somerset, Ky.-based Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital acquired the private practices of Khalid Iqbal, MD, and Anjum Iqbal, MD, and rebranded them under the Lake Cumberland moniker.

Peter Mannon, MD, will join Omaha-based University of Nebraska Medical Center's department of internal medicine as chief of gastroenterology and hepatology.

Kuldeep Singh, MD, joined Baltimore-based Mercy Medical Center with plans to establish and open The Maryland Bariatric Center at Mercy in January 2020.
