Here are five gastroenterologists who recently made headlines.

Michael Shaw, MD, was quoted in a Kaiser Health News report about a nationwide contamination of medical scopes.

Bhavesh B. Shah, MD, was named the medical director of interventional gastroenterology at the California-based Long Beach Memorial hospital, according to India West. He was also named the gastroenterology director at the hospital’s MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute.

Michael Kirsch, MD, wrote an article on his blog about prescription drug abuse, which was picked up by Gastroenterology & Endoscopy News.

Priya Balasubramanian, MD, spoke with the Sacramento Bee about the EpiPen price hike.

Donald Trump’s gastroenterologist Harold N. Bornstein, MD, is in the news again, after CNN medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta, MD, reported that the physician is not a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, nor is he on staff at New York City’s Lenox Hill Hospital, according to the Washington Post.
