3 things to know about Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s Physician of the Year Dr. Mark Thomas Worthington

Prescott, Ariz.-based Yavapai Regional Medical Center named Gastroenterologist Mark Thomas Worthington, MD, its physician of the year, the Daily Courier reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The health center’s physicians and employees select the annual award recipient. Qualities like excellent patient care and bedside manner are the determinants.

2. Dr. Worthington is the medical director for the center. He also serves on four of the center’s committees.

3. Dr. Worthington joined the medical center in 2010. He began his career after earning his medical degree from Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins Hospital.
