Here are three important facts:
1. Endoscopy profits were $442 million, up from $400 million over the same period in in 2017.
2. Second quarter sales were $2.490 billion, an increase of 10.3 percent on a reported basis , 8.6 percent on an operational basis and 7.9 percent on an organic basis, compared to the prior year.
3. The company reported GAAP earnings of $555 million or $0.40 per share, compared to GAAP earnings of $146 million or $0.11 last year, and achieved adjusted earnings per share of $0.41, compared to $0.32 last year.
