2 studies demonstrate improved ADR with ENDOCUFF Endoscopic Overtube

Two recent studies of the ENDOCUFF Endoscopic Overtube from MEDIVATORS, a subsidiary of Cantel Medical, have demonstrated the device's ability to improve polyp and adenoma detection rate.

The ENDOCUFF device is a small, disposable tube with soft flexible projections. The tube, placed over the tip of endoscopes, is designed to flatten colonic folds and increase control.

In the first study, published in the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, the device increased ADR per patient by 86 percent when compared to standard colonoscopy without an endoscopic overtube. The number of polyps detected increased 63 percent, with notable improvement in sigmoid and cecum regions.

In the second study, the ENDOCUFF device was studied in a randomized prospective two-center trial. Physicians using the device reported reduced slippage and maintenance of steady view during complicated procedures.

The device is available in multiple sizes and can be fitted to many Olympus, Pentax and FUJIFILM colonoscopes.
