Here are 12 gastroenterologists Becker's ASC Review featured in February:

1. James H. Grendell, MD, is the gastroenterology division chief at Mineola, N.Y.-based NYU Winthrop Hospital. Dr. Grendell is a medical professor at the State University of New York Stony Brook School of Medicine.

2. Joel V. Weinstock, MD, is the gastroenterology and hepatology division chief at Boston-based Tufts Medical Center. He is recognized for his research on helminths, or parasitic worms, and how they can be used to relieve inflammatory bowel disease.

3. Bradley Barth, MD, is the endoscopy director and pediatric gastroenterology director at Children's Medical Center Dallas. Dr. Barth also serves as medical-dental staff president at Children's Medical Center Dallas.

4. Anthony Nicholas Kalloo, MD, is the gastroenterology and hepatology chief and director at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine. Dr. Kalloo is a past associate editor of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

5. Kenneth R. Mirkin, MD, is the gastroenterology chief at Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Mirkin also leads Fairfax, Va.-based Gastroenterology Associates of Northern Virginia's research division.

7. Asyia Ahmad, MD, is a fellowship program director and medical professor in Philadelphia-based Drexel Medicine's gastroenterology and hepatology division. Dr. Ahmad is also involved in implementing and investigating new tools for endoscopic training.

8. James M. Scheiman, MD, is the gastroenterology and hepatology chief at the Charlottesville-based University of Virginia Health System. Before joining UVA Health System, Dr. Scheiman was director of the Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan's Advanced Endoscopy Training Program and served in the gastroenterology division for over 30 years.

9. Ishaan Kalha, MD, is the gastroenterology division chief at Bakersfield, Calif.-based Kern Medical. Before joining Kern Medical, Dr. Kalha was an attending gastroenterologist at Advanced Gastroenterology Medical Associates .

10. Tamir Ben-Menachem, MD, is Berkeley Heights, N.J.-based Summit Medical Group's gastroenterology department chairman. Dr. Ben-Menachem is also a professor at the New Brunswick-based University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

11. Stacie M. Jones, MD, is the gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition interim chief at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children's Hospital, both in Little Rock.

12. William Sandborn, MD, is the gastroenterology division chief at University of California San Diego Health. He is also clinical operations vice chair in UC San Diego's department of medicine and a Clinical Practice Oversight Board member.
