10 states with the lowest volume of GI procedures per ASC

With the release of the ASC Quality Reporting data for 2018, CMS allows users to search the average number of GI procedures performed per ASC by state.

The data, gathered from Jan. 1, 2016, to Dec. 31, 2016, includes:

• GI endoscopy
• Hernia repair
• Laparoscopic cholecystectomy

Here are the 10 states with the lowest volume of GI procedures per ASC:

1. Montana: 567
2. Virginia: 1,366
3. Wyoming: 1,391
4. Washington, D.C.: 1,460
5. Arkansas: 1,691
6. Utah: 1,694
7. Kansas: 1,829
8. South Dakota: 1,849
9. North Dakota: 1,885
10. Missouri: 1,964
