The Joint Commission has recognized UT Southwestern Medical Center as a comprehensive cardiac center.
The medical center earned the commission’s gold seal of approval, which represents the highest standard in cardiovascular care, according to a May 15 news release.
UT Southwestern was evaluated on its quality of care across 10 cardiac care areas and integration of evidence-based and guideline-driven treatments.
Only 24 hospitals in the U.S. received the CCC designation, the release said.
