Fátima Rodriguez, MD, associate professor of medicine and section chief of preventive cardiology at Stanford (Calif.) Medicine, will receive the 2025 Joseph A. Vita Award at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions in November in New Orleans.
Dr. Rodriguez will be honored during the Nov. 9 opening session for her research advancing cardiovascular risk prediction and personalized prevention strategies, according to a Sept. 24 AHA news release.
The award, named for late cardiovascular scientist Joseph A. Vita, MD, recognizes work that has significantly shaped cardiovascular science in the past five years.
Dr. Rodriguez’s research uses technology and data science to address gaps in outcomes and improve equitable care. She has authored more than 270 peer-reviewed publications and is a fellow of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and American Society for Preventive Cardiology.
