Cardiology procedures are one of the biggest opportunities for growth for ASCs.

University Hospitals Parma (Ohio) Medical Center has added three outpatient cardiology clinics as part of its $27.5 million surgery department renovation, Cleveland.com reported July 7. 

Lake Mary, Fla.-based Alliance Surgery Center performed its first diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedure, according to a June 29 LinkedIn post. 

As CMS continues to remove cardiology surgeries from its inpatient-only list, ASC leaders expect these procedures to be critical to ASC growth.
