Private equity backed Cardiovascular Associates of America has added Travis Stamper as its vice president of ASC development, effective immediately. 

Weirton (W.Va.) Medical Center has been named the top cardiology program in the state by hospital quality reviewer Carechex, according to a Jan. 24 report from NBC/Fox affiliate WTOV9. 

Self-employed cardiologists earn more than their employed counterparts in three major U.S. cities, including New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, according to Medscape's physician salary explorer. 

Tri-City Cardiology has opened a new 15,745-square-foot cardiovascular-focused ASC, Tri-City Surgical Centers, in Mesa, Ariz. 

Health technology company Conneqt debuted its new at-home health monitor, The Pulse, to provide wearers with insights into cardiovascular health including blood pressure, heart rate and pulse rate, according to a Jan. 23 press release sent to Becker's.

Florida-based private equity firm Viper Partners is opening a new mergers and acquisitions department focused on deals in the cardiology space. 

Clinical cardiologist Michael Farkouh, MD, has been named the associate dean for research and clinical trials and a professor of cardiology at Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai, effective March 1.
