Long Island Jewish Medical Center, part of New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health, has opened a $12.6 million outpatient cardiology center in New Hyde Park, Daily Voice reported Oct. 12.

The 10,233-square-foot center moves cardiovascular services off the hospital campus and serves patients in Nassau County and Queens. It has 15 exam rooms and five specialized testing rooms.

The facility has dedicated space for echocardiography, stress testing and vascular imaging, and it offers same-day diagnostic services. LIJ relocated and expanded its outpatient cardiology services to the site to make specialist consultations and diagnostic care easier to reach.

Jon Sendach, executive vice president of Northwell Health and president of its Central Market, said the center “directly responds to the documented need for accessible, high-quality cardiology services in Queens and Nassau County.”

The center is part of the Northwell Cardiovascular Institute, one of the largest cardiovascular programs in the New York metropolitan area.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
