A fire forced the temporary closure of Highland Cardiology in Henrietta, N.Y., according to a May 31 report by NBC affiliate WHEC-TV.
The closure applies only to Highland Cardiology’s Red Creek Drive location and does not affect Rochester, N.Y.-based Highland Hospital. Patients affected by the closure are being contacted and will be seen at other practices, according to a hospital statement shared with Becker’s.
Firefighters responded to the facility shortly after 8:30 a.m. May 31 after smoke detectors and a water flow alarm were activated, according to a Henrietta Fire District Facebook post. Crews arrived to find smoke inside the building and an evacuation underway. Firefighters located a first-floor fire that was being contained by the building’s automatic sprinkler system and extinguished it. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has not been disclosed. Highland Cardiology remains temporarily closed.
