Heart Care Centers of Illinois experiences data security breach

Palos Park-based Heart Care Centers of Illinois has provided notice of a data security breach. 

On Jan. 15, 2026, the organization discovered suspicious activity in connection with an employee’s email account. An investigation found evidence of a successful phishing attack that resulted in unauthorized access to the employee’s account from Aug. 22, 2024 to Nov. 6, 2024, according to a July 17 news release from Heart Care Centers of Illinois.

Impacted information includes names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, state identification numbers, payment information and medical information.

At this time, Heart Care Centers of Illinois does not have any evidence that there has been any identity theft, fraud or misuse of information in connection with the incident, the release said.
