Dr. Shyam Sathanandam named cardiovascular chief of Florida hospital

Coral Terrace, Fla.-based Nicklaus Children’s Hospital appointed Shyam Sathanandam, MD, as chief of cardiovascular medicine, according to a May 1 report from South Florida Hospital News

Dr. Sathanandam is an interventional cardiologist. In addition to chief of cardiovascular medicine, he will become co-director of the Nicklaus Children’s Heart Institute.

As chief of cardiovascular medicine, Dr. Sathanandam will oversee all clinical, operational and quality activities related to cardiovascular medicine and care at the hospital.

Dr. Sathanandam previously served as director of the catheterization lab at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., the report said.
