Dr. Kenneth Liao completes 900th robotic heart surgery

Kenneth Liao, MD, PhD, completed his 900th robotic heart surgery in December. 

Robotic procedures that Dr. Liao and his team perform include mitral valve repair and replacement, tricuspid valve repair and coronary artery bypass surgery, according to a Dec. 31 news release from the Baylor College of Medicine. 

Dr. Liao is chief of Cardiothoracic Transplantation and Circulatory Support at Baylor College of Medicine.

The milestone was reached by Dr. Liao in less than six years, the release said.
