Compensation for integrated cardiologists surpasses $700K: 5 notes

The median total compensation for integrated cardiologists reached $701,000 in 2024, climbing for the fourth consecutive year, according to MedAxiom’s “2025 Cardiovascular Provider Compensation & Production Survey.”

Here are five additional financial notes from the report:

  1. Median compensation for private cardiologists came in at $588,479 in 2024, declining by more than $20,000 compared to 2023.
  2. Cardiologists in private practice had a median total compensation of 16% less than the integrated counterparts, the largest gap in more than five years. 
  3. EP physicians had the highest total median compensation among five cardiology subspecialties, with a median of nearly $800,000.
  4. Invasive cardiology, interventional cardiology, advanced HF and general/non-invasive cardiology ranked second through fifth respectively in total median income. 
  5. Cardiologists in the South had the highest median compensation out of the four U.S. regions, with median 2024 total compensation per full time cardiologist reaching $701,000.
