The median total compensation for integrated cardiologists reached $701,000 in 2024, climbing for the fourth consecutive year, according to MedAxiom’s “2025 Cardiovascular Provider Compensation & Production Survey.”

- Median compensation for private cardiologists came in at $588,479 in 2024, declining by more than $20,000 compared to 2023.
- Cardiologists in private practice had a median total compensation of 16% less than the integrated counterparts, the largest gap in more than five years.
- EP physicians had the highest total median compensation among five cardiology subspecialties, with a median of nearly $800,000.
- Invasive cardiology, interventional cardiology, advanced HF and general/non-invasive cardiology ranked second through fifth respectively in total median income.
- Cardiologists in the South had the highest median compensation out of the four U.S. regions, with median 2024 total compensation per full time cardiologist reaching $701,000.
