Palm Harbor, Fla.-based American Vascular Associates has formed a strategic partnership with New England Endovascular Center, a West Springfield, Mass.-based provider of minimally invasive vascular and endovascular care, the organizations announced Nov. 4 in a news release shared with Becker’s.

AVA is a vascular management and growth organization. It supports office-based labs and ASCs with operations, revenue cycle management, finance, IT, compliance, marketing, physician recruitment and growth strategy.

NEEC was the first interventional and endovascular medical center in Western New England. It serves patients across the Pioneer Valley, the Greater Springfield region, the Berkshires and Northern Connecticut.

Under the partnership, NEEC physicians and clinical teams get access to AVA’s management resources. AVA will provide business infrastructure, performance optimization, growth planning and operational support built for vascular practices. Both organizations aim to widen access to outpatient vascular and interventional care and to expand further in the region.

“NEEC’s reputation for clinical quality, innovation, and patient-centered care makes them an ideal partner for AVA,” AVA CEO Michael Licata said in the release. Mr. Licata said the deal sets up a sustainable foundation for long-term growth.

NEEC founder Dr. R.S. Lowell Kahn said the two organizations share a patient-first culture and the same vision for outpatient vascular and interventional care. Dr. Kahn said the partnership will let NEEC build on what it has created and improve care for patients across Western New England, including northern Connecticut.

The partnership takes AVA into the Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut outpatient vascular market, where both organizations plan to offer more minimally invasive treatment options.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
