Hospitals are the top search assignment setting, according to the Merritt Hawkins 2019 review of physician and advanced practitioner recruiting incentives.

Merritt Hawkins, a national healthcare consulting and recruiting firm, included a sample of 3,131 permanent physician and advanced practitioner search assignments the company conducted for its clients from April 2018 to the end of March 2019.

The top search settings:

1. Hospital – 1,065
2. Group – 877
3. Academics – 626
4. Community health center/federally qualified health center/Indian Health Service- 282
5. Other (HMO, urgent care, etc.) – 250
6. Solo direct/concierge – 31
